Dear Parents and Guardians,

Construction at Donald Young School has continued to progress well since our last communication sent on September 13th.

Work completed and underway since the last update include:

-installation of the structural members along with roof trusses and roof deck

-crews are currently working to prepare for the parapet installation and next week we expect to see the parapet and roofing installed

-the remainder of the tack boards have been installed

-automatic door openers have been installed

-automatic door locking system and safe entry system are being installed

Contractors are now working on the link between the buildings after school hours in an effort to keep the learning environment in the classrooms quiet.  The recent rain and movement of the crews to evening shifts have slowed the contractor down a little bit.  However, we do still expect to see the completion of the link in the next few weeks.

Thank-you for your continued support and understanding during the construction process.  If you have any concerns, please contact me at the school at 482-2271.
